Break Time!

February 29th, 2012

I posted this on my facebook but thought I’d better put something official on my blog, too.

I’m currently not taking any photography sessions…

I know, I know. I’ll let you go find a tissue and compose yourself. Take a minute. There. That’s better. I can hear you banging your hands on the table asking, “WHY?????!!!!” Ha! As if…anyway…

It’s nothing dramatic really, I’m just getting overwhelmed a bit with trying to do too much and the thought of only taking pictures of my kids and other things that interest me is what I need right now. I do LOVE taking pictures of people and actually look forward to two photography sessions I donated to charities, but that’s all I can commit right now. And honestly, I can’t say doing my taxes this past year didn’t put a damper in things either. Yuck.

I’m still going to keep my blog so I can torture you all with pictures of my adorable children :) Plus, I just renewed it so no point in pouring money down the drain :)

Thanks so much to everyone who has supported me. There are a million great local photographers out there, so if you’re looking for a recommendation just email me!

Daddy’s Girl

January 9th, 2012

I just loved these so what better way to show them than all together. Wow, I’m getting teary-eyed just looking at them. Little Miss Chloe here is already well on her way to having daddy wrapped around her little finger :) Thanks for letting me capture some sweet moments here, Will.

Last 52 Friday Ever! | Self Portrait

January 5th, 2012

Praise the Lord! It’s the last 52 Friday and is only by the grace of God that I posted every blasted week. You really don’t appreciate every week until it’s Thursday night and you haven’t done your weekly assignment yet. Ha! But man oh man, what a great experience. I’d like to think I really learned a lot through this process. The different themes really helped stretch my (very small) imagination.  The week I liked the most is probably the one I put the most effort into and that was with my awesome friend Tracy with the theme “odd”.  I loved all the great images of the children I captured and shared through the weekly assignments.

We’ve come full circle in the themes, ending where we started at self portraits. It was fun. I forget what it’s like on ‘the other side’ of the camera and how I start to laugh at absolutely nothing just because I think laughter looks better than some weird half-smile like Chandler Bing on Friends :) Ha! Anywhooo, here’s what I came up with. The last image I started doing “walk like an Egyptian” which I fondly remember my sister and I  doing (okay mostly her friends… I was that annoying little sister that wanted to hang out with the cool kids…)  I really want to thank you girls (and everyone who’s visited my humble little blog over the past year) for being here.

Please join me in visiting Misty Setzler Photography, Lubbock Texas Photographer….come on back any time friends!

51/52 Fridays : Winter { Nampa Idaho Photographer }

December 29th, 2011

Normally winter in Idaho equals lots of “s-words” …snow, sledding, skiing, snowboarding, sipping hot chocolate…now, I’m reaching, but you feel me :) Well, we’re still waiting for snow. It’s not here, so I’m a little dumb-founded about what to do. Hopefully I get more than this close-up of an evergreen…(boring!)

I am so glad I participated in this 52 week journey with everyone. Almost there. One more week to go, and we’re ending where we started: self portrait. I’m just going to say since my last few weeks have kind of been thumbs down, I’m going to try to do something super awesome for the big finale. I hope you can make it back for one more week. Until then, Happy New Year!  Next up is the super, awesome, great-lookin mama  Jobrina Hofleit, Goodyear, AZ Photographer

52 Fridays: Memories {Nampa Idaho Photographer}

December 23rd, 2011

Merry Christmas you guys! This week’s theme is “memories”.  I am blessed with so many wonderful experiences and memories of my life already. I was at my mom’s house this week helping get ready for family tomorrow and I came across the pile of games. Especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas we would get out Scattegories and Balderdash. Balderdash because I think we all liked to see if we could pull one over on each other.  In Balderdash they give you random words that no one in their right mind should know, and you try to come up with the definition and then, along with the actual definition, people guess which one is the actual definition.  It’s great.

I can’t wait to see what memories Christine Blaylock IL Photographer share with us. Merry Christmas everyone!!

PS Since I didn’t have your address…here’s my Christmas card this year!

I’ve got to give some design credit to Melissa Davis Designs and My Lil Creations. I actually took a little of this and that from their templates to make what you see above. Thanks! :)

52 Fridays : music (Caldwell Idaho Photographer)

December 15th, 2011

I was so excited for Lukas’ first ever Christmas program…or any program for that matter. He’s in preschool and is doing so well. He has a great teacher and just enjoys all of his friends there.  This week’s theme was “music” and it went perfectly with his program, so duh, I had to share some pictures :)

Next please follow me to Liza Hall…where she no doubt will have some great music themed images! In case you are all headed off somewhere, Merry Christmas!
